Bowspring Elementals

In this slower paced class, the student can expect to learn and understand the basic concepts of the Bowspring, the 5 subsystems of the Bowspring, the 10 key areas of the Bowspring, and elemental forms of the Bowspring. The student will be given opportunities to practice and refine basic transitions and poses from standing, kneeling, sitting, and lying down.
Bowspring Level 1

At a slower pace, the student can expect a variety of poses and transitions keeping the arms in the forward plane. Poses and transitions from the Seed Kata will be included. Experienced practitioners will benefit in refining details as newer students establish their practice. All levels of students are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Bowspring Level 2

At a more moderate pace, the student can expect a range of complexity within a progressive sequence of dynamic postures to include the Roots Sequence. Fully extended legs and arms in the back plane are introduced in Level 2. This class is designed for intermediate and advanced practitioners.
Bowspring Sculpt

Within this Level 1 Bowspring practice, there will be a kata of repetitive postures and transitions using weights and or resistance bands to amplify the level of sensory within the physical body, to create opportunity to understand and detect mini-closures within the body, and to practice loading the physical body while expanding the inner body. Only light weights and resistance will be used to minimize moving towards patterned closures and to maximize expanding from the inner body. Items needed to participate in this class include 3lb, 5lb, and 10lb weights, tubular resistance bands with handles (light to moderate resistance), and wide resistance bands to use around legs.
